दक्षिणी मराठी खजाना

The Brindavanas of Thrivikrama Pandithacharya & his son Narayana Pandithacharya are situated in Kasargod in Kerala, about 60 km south of Mangalore. After conceding defeat at the hands of Shri Madhwacharya, Thrivikrama Pandithacharya who was great Adhwaitha scholar, accepted Dhwaithism and became his staunch follower and composed Harivayu Sthuthi.  Narayana Pandithacharya was the composer of Sumadhwa Vijaya. Both these Mahakavyas were composed during or immediately after Shri. Madhwacharya’s period.

My wife and I were in Udupi during this Madhwa Navami(16-02-2016) which was celebrated under Paryaya Pejavara Swamiji and immediately after this we visited the Brindavanas of Thrivikrama Pandithacharya & Narayana Pandithacharya.

The descendants of Thrivikrama Pandithacharya are still living in the same place where he lived over 700 years ago. The Brindavanas are situated in the original lands of the family. The vigraha of Shrivathsa-LakshmiNarayana given to Thrivikrama Pandithacharya by Shri Madhwacharya is still in the possession of the descendents and adorns the Puja room of the family. Along with this, the Mudras given by Shri Madhwacharya are also kept. It was an amazing experience to pay our pranams at the two brindavanas and pray to Shrivathsa-LakshmiNarayana.

The family maintains the genealogy of their vamsha, with a small gap of three or four names. Several ancient palm leaf granthas are also available with the family.

The present generation of the family consists of four married brothers and their mother.
